How much of the nutrients are lost when freezing? I finally got to a farm and got liver, chicken, and beef but it was all frozen. And does it matter if I take it home and defrost it right away? What do I do? Thanks.

I am skeptical about what Aajonus has said about this. Sometimes he says 80% nutrient loss, sometimes he says another number, sometimes none at all if it's an arctic fish. It seems a bit exaggerated in my opinion and not very logical. I would say that the time it is frozen probably matters. I would put it in the fridge right away and defrost it that way.

      Enjoy the raw milk

@Stephanie if thats the only way for you to obtain meat then its better than nothing, thaw it out either in room temperature or in the fridge right away but please try to find a meat source that isnt frozen

@ela ok, I'll keep looking. It just kinda sucks that they only freeze when I finally found a farm somewhat near me, and they have heart and other organs.. I'll defrost the rest of what I got. They said all the meat was only 2 weeks old..

It depends what animal. If it's arcric fish then the fish is adapted to the cold and it being frozen isn't as bad. Chickens and cows can't survive winter and they are not adapted to winter and the nutrient loss would be pretty high. Frozen meat destroys enzymes(digestion) and vitamins. I'd rather eat supermarket meat instead. It's that bad. Enzymes and bacteria are absolutely fundamental.

@zygomidus ok, that's what I was thinking, so I guess I'll eat supermarket meat instead until I can find unfrozen.. It was beef meat, beef liver, and chicken that I had. It sucks that I finally found a farm and they said they freeze everything right after slaughter.

@Stephanie yeah it's so sad... You could try and see if they can sell you some specially for you. You can give a bs excuse and say like you get allergic reactions from previously frozen meat and you really like their meat but can only eat it fresh cause you have a genetic disorder which requires you to have a certain enzyme in the meat to digest it and freezing the meat destroys that enzyme. Make up anything... The difference in frozen meat and fresh meat is night and day. Before I didn't know that frozen meat was so bad. I bought frozen kidney from a farm and ate like 600-700g of it with fat and it felt like I ate muscle meat but tastier. I felt nothing basically (cause most of the nutrients and all enzymes and bacteria were destroyed) . Then after I had fresh kidney and I was gonna eat the same ammount but I felt so shit after like 250 grams of it that I had to stop and lay in bed and I puked after cause all the microorganisms and nutrients were preserved and the detox got too strong😅. Also the taste between fresh and frozen kidney was very different... frozen is mild tasting but has some of the taste left, and fresh is very strong tasting cause it filter liquids... I was like woah the first time I had it fresh, and it wasn't even fermented or anything. Btw kidney is a strong detox organ, be careful with it especially if you are new to detoxing.
